Tell us about your history and career development at Gibraltar Business Capital?
I started working at GBC in February of 2016. My previous work was in early childhood development as well as various sports related jobs, so I was new to lending and asset-based lending specifically. Six years later, I am a Senior Collateral Analyst. My manager, Agnes Falconer, has been a key part of my growth at GBC. She’s always making time to show me the ropes and invest in my professional development. Over the years I’ve noticed that the culture of the company is that way across the board. Everyone is always willing to make time to share expertise or create development experiences.
Tell us about something you’ve done recently, working at Gibraltar, that makes you proud.
Historically my work has been focused on monitoring risk across existing asset-based lending clients and daily borrowing activity. Recently, however, I started supporting the underwriting process with risk structuring on the front end which has earned me a promotion to Senior Collateral Analyst.
What makes Gibraltar Business Capital unique in your point of view?
The leadership and management teams at GBC try to be thoughtful about culture building and looking after the people who work here. We are always doing fun activities outside of the office (concerts, go-kart racing, bowling, etc.). And the Gibraltar team has proven to be very accommodating and authentic in their concern for employees. A few years ago, I experienced some health issues and the CEO himself, Scott Winicour, called me frequently to check in on me. It helped tremendously to know the full team had my back during a difficult time.
What do you find most rewarding about working at GBC?
The most rewarding aspect about working at Gibraltar is the culture and the team I work with. We are not the only ABL group out there, however, we do have the best people and culture.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy being active, whether it’s exercising, playing sports, or swimming. During September through February my Sundays are booked from noon until about 9:30 p.m. for FOOTBALL (my fiancée is very excited for that)!
What are you looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to marrying my fiancée and making the transition to enjoying life together as a married couple under one roof.
