Meet The Board
As Managing Director, Pat Blandford leads CCCC Growth Fund’s investing activities. He also serves as the Managing Director of Strategy & Finance for WNC Insurance Services. Pat is currently Chairman of Source-44 and Gibraltar Business Capital, and is a member of the boards for WNC and Alert Alarm of Hawaii. Previously, he was a managing director of Frontenac, a private equity firm. A chartered financial analyst (CFA), Pat began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
Rugger Burke is a principal and investment committee member at Satori Capital, where he also serves as general counsel. He helps lead the private equity investment team and represents Satori Capital as a board member on several of the firm’s portfolio companies. Rugger also serves on the board of Paper for Water, a nonprofit providing clean drinking water to people in developing countries, and is the past chairman of the board of both Metrocrest Medical Foundation and SPCA of Texas, Inc. Rugger earned a mathematics degree and J.D. from Southern Methodist University.
Sunny Vanderbeck has experience in diverse roles including entrepreneur, CEO, investor, board member and military leader. Prior to co-founding Satori Capital [LINK], Sunny co-founded managed services and utility computing company Data Return where he also served as Chief Executive Officer—one of the youngest ever to lead a NASDAQ company. Data Return was named Global Hosting Partner of the Year by Microsoft, while Sunny was named to “Top 25 Technology Executives” and Entrepreneur of the Year finalist by Ernst and Young.
Carl Herrmann III
As Chief Executive Officer, Carl Herrmann III is responsible for the operations, direction and growth of WNC Insurance Services. Through his extensive experience and knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry, he sees emerging trends, identifies new or hidden opportunities and initiates product and business alliance development to capitalize on such opportunities.
As Co-President of GBC, Scott focuses on the overall strategic direction of the company as well as the credit, sales and marketing aspects of the business. Scott founded Gibraltar Business Capital in April of 2010 when he led the management buyout of Gibraltar Financial Corporation (GFC), an asset based lender and factor that began in Chicago in 1951. Scott began his finance career as an account executive in 1995 at GFC. Earning his way up from the ground floor—learning the sales, credit, operations and underwriting processes—Scott took over the day-to-day operations of GFC in 2005. Scott oversees the GBC credit committee and is active in a variety of industry organizations, including the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), International Factoring Association (IFA) and Commercial Financial Association (CFA). Scott is also a regular speaker and has published several articles for the IFA and CFA. He serves on the board of directors for the Cancer Wellness Center, a nonprofit that provides supportive care and education, free of charge, to improve the emotional and physical well-being of people affected by cancer.
As Co-President, Jim oversees balance sheet management, operations and administrative functions of the company. He is also a member of the credit committee. Jim has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Gibraltar, Jim was with Ernst & Young in the Financial Services Advisory practice and held positions with ABN AMRO and Transamerica. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
